Sony desktop pentII 350mhz win 2000.. suddenly boot sequence stops just as "starting windows 2000 prof." windows appears and i get a blue text window stating that "bios is not fully ACPI compliant" update bios etc or else "turn off ACPI Mode" i find no info on sony support site re: motherboard mfg / bios info etc.
i do find only a number "DR736" in lge letters on the board -no name..the only thing i see on bootup screen....(first line) "copyright 1985-1998 Phoenix Technologies Ltd.
(2nd line) Copyright 1998 by Sony Electronics - this is followed by cpu / ram / cache/ etc. no reference to the bios !!
Belarc Advisor report shows " MOB..Wailea A03" and "BIOS..Sony 6.0.2W 09/25/98 " no luck with google on the Wailea Name or Sony number. as for turning off the ACPI Mode, that is way beyond me. i tried to use start up disk but as soon as it starts to read the "A" drive it shuts down. any guidance on this will be greatly appreciated !!!!!
