hi, my Laptop had issues with Bios errors, and came to the conclusion that the bios had corrupted.
So i downloaded the Updated bios (intended for my exact machine). However, the Laptop Crashed whilst the new bios were installing, now when i start the computer i just get the noise like the computer has started, and eventually the fan comes on, But that's it!
The floppy drive and the CD-Rom drive do not initiate and neither does the HDD.
is this terminal or can it be rescued?

Sadly it's often terminal on a laptop. The BIOS chip is often soldered in and you cannot then get to it to replace it with another from the manufacturer.

BIOS flash failures seem to be as high as 3 - 5% so it's always a risky activity.

would you know what this chip may look like? so i can take a look and see if it is accessable?

If it does not display the floppy light or you do not hear the floppy drive being interrogated, there is not much hope. It is possible to do a "blind flash" of the bios with no display on the screen, however the system must look at the floppy when you turn it on to do this.
