Hi guys, has anyone had to recover a corrupted BIOS from a bootable USB before? IM having issues figuring this one out. I have an Lenovo laptop that is unbootable and all signs point to a bad BIOS file. Its an lenovo ideapad Y460P I7 640M. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

I just flash the bios to 27cn71ww on Windows platform(downloaded from lenovo official website, then it freeze long beep sound and later blank screen. When I turn on the power switch, the power switch is on but the screen is blank and never boot up to Windows or fail to enter in the bios. I try lenovo online help that use crisis phoenix, minidos.sys, bios.wph on a USB thumbdrive. The thumbdrive flash light(fn+r) 2 times and I wait for 2hours, the laptop remain the same with blank screen with power switch light on.

If you have tried the lenovo recovery procedure and were not successful, then your only real option is to send the laptop in and have the bios replaced OR to simply replace the motherboard. Very often either of these options cost more than just buying a new laptop SO get an estimate prior to having any work done.

Several Fn + other key combinations are listed here, I would try them all :-

Also the Usb stick needs to 32GB or less so you can format it as Fat32, or 4GB or less to format it as Fat.
I think both types will work but you may have to use Fat with 4GB or less Usb stick.

The link above shows the details.
