Best Cloning Software

I've just installed a new 1 TB WD_Black SN770 NVMe SSD Game Drive. A quick search for a cloning application comes up with a long list, which sounds wonderful, but I am not familiar with the sites and I would like to hear from others as to what they use and where downloaded

If I didn't already have Acronis ... I'd Proably be using the Free Macrium Reflect

I use Macrium Reflect.
Thanks for the replies. I looked at both suggested apps and decided on Macrium Reflect 8 Free, since I do not expect to be doing this again.
The most difficult part was getting the case open, without destroying it. Now I'm trying to decide whether to leave the old SSD (only 100GB) and use the BIOS to change the boot from the C:\ drive to the E:\ drive (new SSD) to which Windows was cloned.
If I erase the old SSD, I could use it for extra storage, although I don't think that I will ever run out of space now that I have the new 1TB SSD + the original 1TB hard drive. I have forgotten what Windows does if you physically remove a drive. From what I remember, it automatically reassigns drive letters.

Hopefully .. Nothing
Should reassign as C:
let us know.
I'd keep the old SSD as a bootable backup
Nothing, indeed. It did reassign as C:\. It's like a new computer.
A bootable backup is a good idea. I will buy an enclosure for the old SSD and leave Windows on it it, so that I can connect via USB, should the need arise. My advice to anyone looking for a laptop is to stretch yourself a little bit financially and get more memory & storage than you think you need (I also upped the memory to 32GB). I wish I had. Laptops do not like to be opened and you will surely lose a couple of clips, unless you are an expert - I do not want to pry this device open ever again.
Thank you for the help & suggestions.

I would, and have put the 1TB in an external and used it for data only.
Then imaged the OS.
This way your only ~5 minutes away from a complete system recovery.
I think cloning a 1tb takes around 1 hour ... Recovering from an image longer ...
... and either way, You'll need more storage space.
Then get a another 1TB SSD or HDD and maintain Data duplicates.

Anything you don't mind loosing is something you only have one copy of.

You might want to get a 500gb SSD the next time, Their durability (TBW) is about 4 times greater than your 120 SSD.
Your 1TB is about 8 times better durability.
Make sure the brand you get specifies their (Terra Bytes Written) Durability

I use Samsung 500TB for my OS only.
I keep my Data only in 2 TB HDDs (Triplicates)
Just a couple days ago, I had to Clone a new 2TB HDD ..... I still had 2 copies to start with.

I've just recently downloaded a free version of AEOMI Backup, using it for the first time, I was amazed at how simple it was to use.
