I posted this in another part of the forum and they told me it was a security issue and I should post a HiJackThis log here. So here it is. I would also like to add that it only happens to me from sites where I can check webmail, like hotmail.com, home.peoplepc.com, myspace.com... And also that something to do with my PeoplePC software has stopped working. BartShellModule.exe has errors and shuts down almost everytime I connect, but sometimes it doesn't. The internet connection is fine, but the PeoplePC program shuts down. I don't know, I don't understand it.

You may want to print out these instructions for reference, since you will have to restart your computer during the fix.

Please download FixWareout from one of these sites:
http://downloads.subratam.org/Fixwareout.exe
http://swandog46.geekstogo.com/Fixwareout.exe

Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, then make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish. The fix will begin; follow the prompts. You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so. Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.

When your system reboots, follow the prompts. Afterwards, Hijack This will launch. Close Hijack This, and click OK to proceed.

At the end of the fix, you may need to restart your computer again.

Finally, please post the contents of the logfile C:\fixwareout\report.txt, along with a new Hijack This log.

Download AVG Anti-Spyware from HERE and save that file to your desktop.

When the trial period expires it becomes feature-limited freeware but is still worth keeping as a good on-demand scanner.

1. Once you have downloaded AVG Anti-Spyware, locate the icon on the desktop and double click it to launch the set up program.
2. Once the setup is complete you will need run AVG Anti-Spyware and update the definition files.
3. On the main screen select the icon "Update" then select the "Update now" link.
   • Next select the "Start Update" button. The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
4. Once the update has completed, select the "Scanner" icon at the top of the screen, then select the "Settings" tab.
5. Once in the Settings screen click on "Recommended actions" and then select "Quarantine".
6. Under "Reports"
   • Select "Automatically generate report after every scan"
   • Un-Select "Only if threats were found"

Close AVG Anti-Spyware. Do Not run a scan just yet, we will run it in safe mode.

1. Reboot your computer into Safe Mode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode then hit enter.
   
   IMPORTANT: Do not open any other windows or programs while AVG Anti-Spyware is scanning as it may interfere with the scanning process:
   
2. Launch AVG Anti-Spyware by double clicking the icon on your desktop.
3. Select the "Scanner" icon at the top and then the "Scan" tab then click on "Complete System Scan".
4. AVG will now begin the scanning process. Please be patient as this may take a little time.
   Once the scan is complete, do the following:
5. If you have any infections you will be prompted. Then select "Apply all actions."
6. Next select the "Reports" icon at the top.
7. Select the "Save report as" button in the lower lef- hand of the screen and save it to a text file on your system (make sure to remember where you saved that file. This is important).
8. Close AVG Anti-Spyware and reboot your system back into Normal Mode.

Please go HERE to run Panda's ActiveScan

• Once you are on the Panda site click the Scan your PC button
• A new window will open...click the Check Now button
• Enter your Country
• Enter your State/Province
• Enter your e-mail address and click send
• Select either Home User or Company
• Click the big Scan Now button
• If it wants to install an ActiveX component allow it
• It will start downloading the files it requires for the scan (Note: It may take a couple of minutes)
• When download is complete, click on My Computer to start the scan
• When the scan completes, if anything malicious is detected, click the See Report button, then Save Report and save it to a convenient location. Post the contents of the ActiveScan report

Come back here and post a new HijackThis log along with the logs from the AVG and Panda scans.

• Please double-click Killbox.exe to run it.
• Select:
  • Delete on Reboot
  • then Click on the All Files button.
• Please copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy):
  
  c:\windows\system32\unPPC.exe
  
• Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose Paste from Clipboard.
  
• Click the red-and-white Delete File button. Click Yes at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click OK at any PendingFileRenameOperations prompt (and please let me know if you receive this message!).

If your computer does not restart automatically, please restart it manually.

If you receive a message such as: "Component 'MsComCtl.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid." when trying to run Killbox, click here to download and run missingfilesetup.exe. Then try Killbox again.

How are things now

*sigh* It's still redirecting me. My internet is running smoother though. It only seems to be doing it on communication pages. Myspace, hotmail, and checking my people pc webmail. It doesn't do it on my gibsoncounty.net when I am checking my mail, or on my college's website or facebook.com. I don't know if that additional info will help at all.

Download WinPFind

• Right Click the Zip Folder and Select "Extract All"
• Extract it somewhere you will remember like the Desktop
• Don’t do anything with it yet!

Click here for info on how to boot to safe mode if you don't already know how.

Reboot into Safe Mode.

Double click WinPFind.exe

• Click "Start Scan"
• It will scan the entire System, so please be patient and let it complete.

Reboot back to Normal Mode!

• Go to the WinPFind folder
• Locate WinPFind.txt
• Copy and paste WinPFind.txt in your next post here please.

It will not work. When I run the program in safe mode it goes partially through the scan and then freezes up. I have tried to do this twice. I have even let it sit for an hour and come back without anything happening. The hard drive light is not flashing either. This computer is brand new and it is making me want to pull my hair out! Any other ideas.. or a way to get the program to work?

Download Combofix to your desktop:

* Double-click Combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
* When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply.

Note: Do not mouse click Combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall.

Sorry for the delay. I have been having to make trips to the hospital because my grandpa had a serious surgery performed.

Here's an update. I downloaded Mozilla Firefox browser just to see if it would make a difference and I don't have any of the problems with it that I was having with internet explorer. Let me know if you think I should still download the program from before. Also, out of all the security programs that I have on my computer now, SpySweeper, McAfee, and AVGAS are running all the time. Should I have all three running or just pick one?
