Hi there,

I got a Compaq notebook.
Since a few weeks my battery indicator is gone in de the lower taskbar. I ticked all the boxes in the Configuration screne but still no pic.

Does anybody know how to solve this? Has it something to do with the register?

Thnx

Did you try to change the battery icon settings? Or did it just magically stop being there ?

Is there anything wrong with the icon that's there now? - I'm trying to rule out that it's not the screen.

To make life easy, take a picture of the settings to show battery status for us.

I tried to take a pic by "print scr.". Won't work. How can I take this pic?

Once someone changed things in my register. Afterwards the pic was gone. My taskbar shows pics of other applications. It has to do with the settings of Windows why the Battery level won't be shown.

I don't have a laptop so it's hard but try Start -> Control Pannel -> Display -> Settings tab -> Advanced -> Have a look around there.

No, its not in there.

When I right click on the taskbar and go to "properties" its listed in the non active items.
"Always active" wont work neither. Maybe this will help a bit?

The only way to have something show up in the system tray (the notification area) is to open the program that runs it. sometimes It is hard to find were the program is but that is the only way.

Trying to bring it up with customize notifications will not work (as you well know).

Try rebooting your computer. This will run all of the processes that run on startup. It might come up. This might run the program automatically

If this doesn't work or you want to be able to bring it up if it disappears again you need to use the taskmanager. Are you familiar with the taskmanager? Let me know. you can open it by holding down CTRL + Shift + Escape. On the process tab see if you can find a process that sounds remotely like a battery something or other.

Do a google search for the process i.e. process.exe. See if it looks like what you are talking about. Usually one of these websites will say where this program is located.

look on your computer too see if you can find the program that runs your battery display. If you open up the program when the battery indicator is gone, this should bring it back.
