I have a new custom built Pent.4, 3.0 Asus S4P800X. I have 2 USB hubs on the front, the first time plugging in to one caused my comp to freeze and then not boot up and the second time lost all power. The first time they replaced my mother board the second time my power supply. I blamed it on the brand new iRiver Mp3 player and returned it for a different brand. Now the 3 time I plugged in a digital camera which I used numerous times on my old comp. My comp immediately frooze and now it will have intermittent power and will not boot up at all. The new comp is plugged in exactly as my old one, with even a better surge protector. Im convinced its a badly wired comp, the tech that built my comp is trying to tell me is my own power problem where I plug it in. Ive never had a problem in 4 years with my old comp. What are your opinions?

is the usb lead connected correctly to the motherboard? Sometime instaed of the noe plug you hav eteh seperate wires to connect. Maybe the + an d- voltages are wrong or dsomethign. id check and see though.

black is ground.

Yours may be different tho. Check the manual to make sure ahere they go. Note there may be an extra pin on one side of the connector. this should be a no-connect on most sytsems

how many pins are there? 8 or 9? If there are 9 then the other side is pin1, ie the other end with two pins. i dont know which way round they go. Cant find your manual anywhere. Sorry i cant help you any more than that. I dont wanna ruin your system so id wait untill someone more versed comes in.
