hi all this is going to sound mad but he we go. right what i intend on doing is running a film on my pc and with the tv out on my G/card and audio from my sound card connect to the vhs will it record it on a format that i can play the film back on the vhs tape

I'm not a technician or anything, but it's just a signal to the VCR - as long as the signal is within the specs, the recording will likely depend more on the quality of the video clip and the cables.

I've done that a couple of times, and found setting the monitor resolution to 640x480 @ true color and using the full screen mode of the media player generally provided the best results. However, with my ATI card, I did have some video cutoff.
