Hi guys, I am having an annoying problem. I even reformatted my pc to get rid of it and it still does it. Autoplay keeps trying to autoplay when nothing is in there to play. ALL the time and it is very annoying. Can anything be done about this? Next time it happens I will take a shot and link it back here so you can see what I mean. Please tell me you guys can help me. Thanks.

Edited: Ok here is the link of what I mean. The autoplay box comes on all the time even when nothing is in any of the drives. I am not trying to run anything btw. Again thanks!

Havent rebooted it though
When you make changes in the registry, you have to reboot for the changes to take effect.
Did you change the AutoRun value in the registry and reboot?
Did you turn auto run off?
Right-click on the drive icon for your CD drive and select Properties.
Choose the AutoPlay tab, and choose the desired action for each type of CD. For example, choose Music CD, then click Select an action to perform, then select Take no action.

Yes I have done all of that. Do you have to do it on all of the file types? I tried doing that. After I did 2 file types on 1 drive and went back it said the samething before I changed it to 'take no action' I changed the vaule to 0 in the registery.

I've attached TweakUI for XP to this post. Download and install it, and you'll be able to configure the autoplay for each drive easily.

Ok that is so weird. I used the link you gave me before and it gave me that error. I used it now and it worked. THanks Ill try it and let you know if it worked.

Edited: Ok since I went to properties on all the drives and changed autoplay options it hasnt popped up yet. Although the drive light is still on like it is trying to run something. Any idea on how to fix that? Thanks alot.
