Audio Randomly Not Playing for New Programs

Hey guys, ongoing issue for about a month now.

Randomly programs will just not play audio, while every other program plays just fine, even new programs opened immediately following a program that failed to have audio.

This includes but is not limited to, games (Path of Exile, League of Legends), VOIP (Skype, Discord), and websites (Twitch, Youtube).

The only way to remedy it for the instance that it occurs is to restart the Windows Audio service or close and reopen the offending program. However these are both undesirable solutions given the side effects they can cause depending on the programs running.

Nothing particularly noteworthy happened around the time it started happened. Perhaps it was in relation to updating Logitech Gaming Software (which has since been uninstalled and am using windows drivers as of now).

All audio drivers not relating to my current setup (Realtek, LGS, NVidia High Def, etc) have been uninstalled, but it doesn't hurt or help the problem. Also, I'm running on Windows 7.

click on the advanced tab. Under exclusive mode make sure to untick "allow applications to take exclusive control of this device"
