I have this discontinued motherboard from asus and im trying to get the drivers...so i got directly to asus and the driver .exe file is corrupted...any help???

the mother bored is like a p4p800x or something to that effect...and the soundcard is onboard..bleh...

First of all you must know the exact model and revision of the mb. Not "something to that effect"
Next are you using a download manager?

Alright....the mother board is p4p800-mx ...the following link;

is for the drivers...i downloaded the xp drivers into one folder and double clicked on the first file...it is corrupt...so...any idea's or links to where I can get the drivers for the onboard sound??

(apologies for not having the name of the motherboard...)

oh and also, this is the "documented" error that was sent to my temp folder...if it may help...

The Asus site is pretty pathetic, I hope they really sort it out.

The motherboard uses a AD1888 codec, here's a compatible (I hope) driver: http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/driver/dvr/spt_dvr_list.php?part=1&kind=3&CHIP=3&COM=18

thanks you guys for your help...i ended up using winrar and a used a 2nd package instead of the initial one needed from the site...it worked thanks all
