I keep losing my Adobe Flash player and while it easy to reinstall, it is still a nuisance. One web site that I visit daily keeps offering Macromedia Flash Player.

When I downloaded Adobe Flash Player a while back it would not install without removing all old Macromedia files that were in my computer.

Have those two companies merged their players now?

They've been the in the same ownership since 2005, assuming Wikipedia can be relied on, and it is quite puzzling that both names still seem to be in use on thier website etc.

Perhaps they feel there is some goodwill in the Macromedia name and they want to retain it?; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adobe_Flash

Thanks for the reply. I will not worry about it anymore and it will be easier to reinstall since the ones offered on the web are probable newer than the one I have saved to my hard drive downloads folder.
