At each bootup, I get a msg box stating APWUTIL.DLL is missing or could not be found. When I click on OK, the msg box goes away and everything seems to be fine.

I have done a search and found this file is in the NortonAV directory. Norton is running fine in the background, it is updating automatically, scans Email, etc. so why is this msg box popping up?

Norton has "choked" on my PC and I had to reinstall it and that is about when this msg started popping up. There is only one directory on my PC for Norton and only one file with the APWUTIL.DLL name.

Any ideas?

P.S. I did a search on the Techguy website for APWUTIL and found where some folks hated NAV. I have found I like NAV better than McAfee and AVG as it seems much more user friendly and efficient. I have never tried eTrust/EZ Armor LE by MS but I am going to try a free copy of it on my wife's PC soon. I noticed that the eTrust price of over $100 for a year ~ too much for me to buy each year!

Hi Cookie,

Thankx for the info.

I also asked Protonic.com the same question and I got a whole "recipe" of things to do directly from Symantec and it took me about 5 hrs to work thru their steps. Guess what? Your answer is right on because using their "solution" did not work.

I guess I will have to live with that stupid error msg each time I boot up until they get a "fix" on it.

Thankx again.
