I have aol 9.0 and so far it is a horror. It freezes when it is not lurching, and this happens every time I employ it. Am I the only one having repeated, continual problems with this program? Is it something I did or said? Did I install a lemon? Somebody tell me: am I the only one suffering these problems with aol? I'm sending this by old reliable aol 8.0 'cause 9.0 is breaking my heart.

if you can get online at all then i suggest clicking on "help" > "AOL Help" and it will open up a page for you...from here you can go to computer check up and it will optimize AOL for you. i was having connection problems, but when i ran this thingy it fixed it. also, you can get live tech support (via chat).

Mine has run fine since instalation. Things I have learned are, install from disc, uninstall 8.0 after you successfully install 9.0 to make sure your addys are transferred. Or go completly clean and start with all aol registrys deleted.
Finding all the new settings in AOL 9.0 and making them work may take some time. I didn't find "Clear AOL art" for 3 months, which helped speed up surfing.

I had 7.0 and 8.0 plus all kinds of letters after the 8.0.. I lost all kinds of things with those two, argued with AOL and got almost a years free service. They like to say "I'm sorry"....I like to say "If you really are, then compensate." They will.
Sorry to here bout your troubles but you lose credibility with me at least when you say "Dump it!". A lot of people don't, but I think a lot of people don't post fixes cause they may be afraid of ridicule. Chill out and wait for reply's, re: top of my post. Can you imagine the problems you might have if all of your WMP players were playing at the same time?
Mine works...Windows XP/Dial up.

Thank you all for the get back. I am aware of the aol help option but have also begun to believe that 9.0 is a beta version without their telling you. I require trusty communications without allthe bells and whistles of 9.0. I think I will stick with 8.0 until the dust settles around the entry of 9.0 -Wompatawa
