What type of bird this is?? Ive looked and looked...... i cant seem to find.

Its definately a hawk of some kind, not an owl.......... the pic was taken off Greenland. I will check the site .......thanks

Looks like a Gyrfalcon...Falco rustcolus

Its habitat is the rocky coasts of the continents and islands of the extreme northern latitudes...it eats other seabirds....and is 21-24" long....females are much larger and heavier than males.....in Elizabethan times, their ownership was reserved for kings and emporers...

OMG...Thank-you...They are beautiful...I too think it is an adult bird.
I have a beautiful book called Birds of Prey...by Floyd Scholz (it is actually Genes book)...it has many of the raptors, including this one in many poses.
