Greetings to all the knowledgable ones out there

Has anyone have experience of a programme called
Virus Removal 2008 or PC Privacy Cleaner

This programme appeared yesterday and seems to have taken over my PC deskop. I run AVIRA ANTVIR PE Classic which seems to cope with what I do, any ideas ????.I cannot run this new stuff through ANTVIR to see if it is malacious.

Thank You

I do believe these are malware. Wait a day to see if this is confirmed. You may then click "Report" and ask that your Thread be transfered to the "Secuity/HJT" Forum.

I will monitor your Thread for developments.

Redoak Thank you for your reply. I am not sure if it is part of the Virus Removal 2008 thing but Iam getting a trojan being flagged up by my Aria antivirus software. as I was removing some bits of programmes,
TR/Vundo.FKW. 7 TR/Vundo.fig9 with various permutations.the location is given as in \ system32/xxxxx.dll files.Every attempt to delete or quarantine them fails it just reappears.
Looks like Bessy has finally gone bad

Being of slightly unsound mind re PCs how do I transfer this enquiry to Security & HJT.:confused:

(My old PC keeps peeping, indicating the antivirus is flagging the intruder up, where's the hammer:):)

In the lower right corner of the Thread screen is "Report." It may or may not be in red, depending on the color scheme you have running. In the light gray mode, it is very pale, along with other buttons. Just fill in the request form saying something like, "Please transfer my Thread to the Security/HJT Forum."

Cookiegal.
I am not at home at present so I do not know the name of the softawre, however whilst I was watching him play around with it the Vundo trojan codes appeared in the removed list. I will endeavour to give a more satisfactory reply on Sunday when I return home.
Thank you for your advise.:):)

Cookiegal and other ladies&gentlemen,

Junior installed Super Anti Spyware and I have installed Ad Aware, which between them seem to have conquered any attackers, so far.I am reading up on the Hijack This procedure for future use(crossed fingers)
Again Thank you for all your advice and should Bessy misbehave again I will come calling, pronto
