Hey there,

My family has an infinite number of home videos, and I just built myself a pretty powerful computer, and have absolutly no idea how to utilize the enormous power. So, I thought it would be a good idea to put all those home videos in a couple of Dvds. However, when building this 'supercomputer' I was on a strict budget, and excluded a video card, sound card, and speakers, so I could go high end on all the other parts. I am about to purchase a video card. I want to know what kinds of video cards have the capability of video input. I'm asking this because I saw about 70% of the video cards available say "TV OUT: S-Video Out" While I need to plug my analog video camara IN the computer to load it to the computer and then onto a DVD. So, my question is that is there a video card that has an input s-video capability and also act as a normal video card. The only things I saw were Video input pci cards.

Many Nvidia cards also come with Video-In Video-Out(VIVO) capability.

would these two also work? in the reveiws, most ppl are installing it on a "pvr", im installing it on a pci-slot on my comp cuz i need it to upload videos from a video camcorder. Thanks for ur time

Yes they would, but they do not double as a video card. Also if you are going that route then go with ATI Wonder or Hauppauge cards as they are more widely recognized and better quality: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...72&Submit=ENE&Manufactory=1772&SubCategory=47

you'll find me as a cheap guy lol, spent too much money on the cpu, mobo, hard drive and ram. One last question, does a firewire come from the motherboard or the sound card?

Firewire can be on either the motherboard or on a separate soundcard, but usually only on more expensive models.
