Firstly i hope this is in the right section, i did look at the rules and i see no reason why this shouldn't fit here :)

I'm building a new computer to replace my old 754 Sempron. I was wondering if you guys could check out the components, tell me if they're quality and compatable as this is a big investment and i don't want to screw it up.

And finally, Screen -

Are these all compatable? i have checked myself and see no problems but i would like another opinion, also, are these good quality components?

Cheers

They all seem to be good - however i would make the following changes (based on your current component price range)

Monitor : http://www.amazon.co.uk/Acer-23-inc...5?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1250615678&sr=1-5
or
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fujitsu-Sie...i-media/dp/tech-data/B001F7DM66/ref=de_a_smtd

PSU: If you are willing to spend £130gbp for a psu which is capable of powering a dual card and raid system you only need a very good 850W PSU like this 80+ Gold Certified OCZ PSU: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/168
okay so its a little bit more at £141 but does come with a 5 year warranty.

Or for only £100gbp you can get one of these 900W 80+ Silver Certified Coolermaster PSU's which also comes with a 5 year warranty:

That is a NICE power supply indeed, i think i'll go for that! thanks!

The screens you suggested, the Acer only has VGA which would be a shame for such a powerful system, and the other is out of my price bracket.

Thanks for the advice guys, i'll be ordering in the next 30 mins or so

Good luck fella with the build and hopefully (meant in a good way) we do not here from you with any problems

With regards to the monitor though - if you were to switch to a 22" screen you will find that you can get a FAR better quality monitor from the likes of Samsung etc if you shop around - i would personally spend a good couple of hours before finalising a choice (and please use the independent review sites).

Bye for now mate :)

If you really want quality, look at here: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/164951 7 year warranty, the most advanced series from Corsair, titled many many times the best PC PSU manufacturer. Corsair also has the 850TX model for more budget oriented builders who still want extreme quality.
Still, it's only Silver efficiency rated, I'm not that sure how many percents it loses to the OCZ, and how much "all over the board" the differences are. 7 years is longer than 5, and Corsair usually has a lower failure rate than OCZ. Silverstone is also a bit more reputable than OCZ. Antec is a decent good, but the OCZ Z, Silverstone and Corsair overdo it pretty much. 1000 watt is overkill even for dual 4870s.

Overall, don't feel bad even if you already hit the order button, you've made a good choice anyways.

Thanks for all the help guys, im building on Thursday 20th; if it does not go well i'll see you then!
