How exactly did you check? I checked the specs on that laptop and I do not see where there is any processor upgrade info AND the processor that came with the laptop is the only one listed ie there are no optional processors.I had checked prior online for comparability of the chip and everything seemed fine.
If this is a mission critical system, why in the world are you messing with swapping cpus? If this is a company supplied computer, you need to contact your IT dept.This is my work computer so I really need this update to work
To go from here I do want to make fully clear I am not an expert in tech and it is why I am seeking help. When checking the compatibility I first checked the upgrade limits with my laptop model. Then looked up the chip to see if it would fit the socket. Then double checked it was compatible for the model. And finally went through to find if others had successfully upgraded from my current chip to the new chip with the same laptop. If I missed a step y all means tell me I am open to learning and going in to do more research, even if that ends with it being the chip won't work.How exactly did you check? This is not a company supplied computer. I am a independent contractor with my own business so I do not have the resource of an IT department. Because it is a small business as well and the original simplicity I thought the project would have after research as well as what I had thought was confirming information of compatibility I did believe this was something I could do.If this is a mission critical system, why in the world are you messing with swapping cpus? Sadly yes I now know this. Contacted the seller and found they won't take it back since it was opened so will have to find someone to take it. Thank you for reconfirming the data!The Bios has to be compatible with the new Cpu and in this case it isn't.
I would put the old A8 Cpu back in and sell the A10 or send it back for a refund if that's an option.
Checking into it now.If not there, a few places in town buy computer parts so might take it.Sometimes you just have to take a chance and try it.
Maybe you could sell it on Ebay or similar ?
