My winXP was infected with
Trojan Horse Downloader Generic 3EEU
Trojan Horse Generic 2NTO
Trojan Horse Generic 2KTU

and even though the trojans were "healed" by AVG, all of my browsers ( IE, Firefox, Mozilla) are being hijacked to unknown sites.

2. The following entry reappears in the hijackthis log even after repeated deletion
85.255.113.123: 85.255.112.72

3. Spybot, Adaware, Superantispyware, AVG, Avast are now showing "clean" scan but hijack continues.

4. When the infection first occurred the Zone Alarm flashed the message that ipconfig.exe wants to access the internet and due to oversight I clicked "Yes" and even placed the checkmark in the checkbox. Thereafter I found that the above mentioned ip addresses have appeared in the "Preferred and Alternate DNS Servers"

5. But now these ip addresses appear only in hijackthis log repeatedly.

6. Someone please help.

Let me add the following

(a) After the occurrence of infection, Spybot had detected and cleaned "PIPAS.A"
(b) I have blocked the access of the following in zone Alarm

(i) Windows\System 32\ipconfig.exe and
(ii) A peculiar program Windows\System32\(34B313B3-D4FD-47E4-B074-8506F2498BFC).exe

* Click here to download HJTsetup.exe.
Save HJTsetup.exe to your desktop.

Double click on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Hijack This.
Continue to click Next in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the Select Addition Tasks dialogue.
Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.
Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
At the final dialogue box click Finish and it will launch Hijack This.
Click on the Do a system scan and save a log file button. It will scan and then ask you to save the log.
Click Save to save the log file and then the log will open in notepad.
Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

You may want to print out these instructions for reference, since you will have to restart your computer during the fix.

Please download FixWareout from one of these sites:
http://downloads.subratam.org/Fixwareout.exe
http://swandog46.geekstogo.com/Fixwareout.exe

Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, then make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish. The fix will begin; follow the prompts. You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so. Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.

When your system reboots, follow the prompts. Afterwards, Hijack This will launch. Close Hijack This, and click OK to proceed.

At the end of the fix, you may need to restart your computer again.

Finally, please post the contents of the logfile C:\fixwareout\report.txt, along with a new Hijack This log.
