Adobe printing problems

My Adobe professional is printing scanned documents very slow. and it is only scanned documents. I have checked the box in the printer section that says "print file as image".
the printer is an HP Laser jet on a network and it has the newest drivers any one have a clue on a fix ( computer is a clone plenty of memory plenty of hard drive space nothing out of the ordinary.

Check the file size of the "scanned documents", as some can be truly enormous.
