Hi everyone,

I have a desktop and a laptop both running windows XP. (Desktop is pro, and laptop is home edition). I use a router to connect both of these machines to broadband and all of this works fine. However I am trying to set up the file sharing features. Everything seems to be going ok, but when I try to view workgroup computers in my network places, I an told that I do not have the rights and to contact my system administrator. I am set up with administrator rights on both of the machines... Can anyone help???

Are you trying to access a shared folder or the root of C? Try sharing a folder outside the root of C or you will get a message about tha administrative share and not having the correct permissions.

I have folders set up for sharing on the desktop, but i have also tried to share the C: drive, should I 'unshare' this.??
