Re: OS Windows XP Home E

Recently installed Lexmark 2400 series(printer/scanner/copier) followed instructions about cancelling add hardware wizard and inserted installation disk. It froze after it prompted it would install automatically . So I went to device manager, updated the driver, and proceeded to install through add hardware wizard; having felt I had no other choice. Its working fine...I can copy, scan, and print.
The Only thing now is I keep getting the "Add hardware Wizard has detected new hard ware do you wish to install now" every time I open my computer. How can I have something to install if I already installed it ?
Thank you.
Veri.

Maybe the Event viewer will shed some light on this crazyness.

Right click My computer>manage>event viewer>applications.

I see several application errors. The most recent is dating on the 14th(today) and on the 9th of this month. I installed lexmark on the 13th. Only one warning MSIinstaller back in 08/22/06.
Thanks
Veri.
P.S. I couldn't help but notice that at the time I updated the driver and proceeded to install the printer it saved it in fat 32. I have nothing that reads Lexmark in start up programs and nothing in my computer/ c: local disk/ program files. Could that be the problem?

Well i don't know right now what else to tell you except you can try this. Uninstall the printer and reinstall it. THis solves problems sometimes.

Well, almost that exact same thing happened to me with my HP all-in-one. I mean, I didn't have the disk (DARN!), so I got it off of HP's website, then the wizard was going crazy.

I just followed the add wizard again just for the halibut and it finally took. No more " new hardware detection".
Thanks.
Veri.

Detective told the street walker how his case was coming along by saying " I almost had my finger on it", street walker replied " well, you shouldn't stand so close".
