I have just built a new PC and have put my old hard drive in as a slave. I had program files and various saved files in my doccuments. In trying to access this on my new PC it will not allow me to. Thinking about it, I have realised my username needed a password before windows would load. Assuming this is why I can't read from that folder on new PC is there any way, knowing my password I used on old PC, that I can get access to this folder?

Regards

I would put the hardrive back into the other computer, and link them in a network. Access the computer that way, and transfer everything to your newer machine.
Not the ideal method, granted, but one that will work, provided you have the patience to set up a small intranet network between the two boxes. Good luck.

If the old drive isn't recognized in "My Computer" did you try different jumper settings? Mine wouldn't work unless they were both on CS.
