I am trying to uncheck one item in config in an attempt to avoid a conflict with Roxio Media Centre 9. I can uncheck the apprpriate box but when I click apply I get the message 'access denied - you may need to log on as administrator to make changes'. The snag is , I am logged on as administrator.

I have tried to boot in safe mode but can not! Despite trying f8, f12, :sfc / scannow. Any other ideas?

I thought I'd try safe mode but see part 2 of my original - I'm running XP Pro too.
