Everytime I try to install my ''D-Link DWL-520+'' drivers, after the new hardware wizard completes the install there it gives me this message...

*
Cannot Install This Hardware

There was a problem installing this hardware:

Network Controller

An Error occured during the installation of this device

Access Is Denied
*

I Have Administrator privilages... I'm using Windows XP Pro SP1...
The card is properly installed in the computer (I checked like 25 times)...
The software and the files that the driver is supossed to install all get where they are supossed to be and everything but just not the driver... when i check in the Device Manager, It reads ''Network Controller'' and there is that lil Yellow Thing with a ''!'' in it...

I hope someone can help me solve this :) Thax in advance! :)

Open up this folder:

C:\Windows\Driver cache\i386

Rename the driver.cab file to driver.old. (I'm assuming you updated from 98---this leads to problems. But try these directions even if you didn't.)

Insert you XP CD. Click on "Perform Additional Tasks". Click "Browse this CD" and then double-click the i386 folder. Find the driver.cab file, right-click and Copy.

Paste it in the C:\Windows\Driver cache\i386 folder.

Open Device Manager, right-click and remove the network card. Reboot the computer. Direct it to the location of the driver when it asks, or if it doesn't reinstall the driver.
