I've been using PC's for over a decade now and I can say with confidence that I take good care of my computer. I have an Intel Pentium 4 with 2048 GB of RAM running Windows XP Professional SP2, and everything is up to date.

My problem is that when I plug my iPod into my PC for an extended period of time (to charge it using the computer instead of an outlet, for example), the computer will randomly freeze, and I can only do a hard re-boot to fix it. I realize this isn't a big problem, so I avoided plugging my iPod into my PC as much as I could and the lockups stopped.

I recently bought a product called 'Radio Shark' that let's you listen to the radio TiVo style on your PC (like the iPod, this is another Mac product made for use with either the PC or Macintosh computers - could this be a factor?).
I really like having this plugged in all the time, but I encounter the same problem. When either the iPod or Radio Shark are plugged into either of my remaining USB ports (I have other things plugged in the other USB ports, never had any problems), the computer has a chance of randomly freezing. What can I do to narrow down possible causes? I really like that my computer is always so reliable, and runs so smoothly... so this problem I've had with no foreseeable solution is dissappointing!

Any suggestions are appreciated, and if you need anymore information please let me know!

2048 MB of RAM, you guys know what I mean :D

I've narrowed it down further. I play a game called EverQuest 2 (I'm sure *somebody* here has heard of it), and said freezes only seem to occur while I'm playing and have either one of the peripherals plugged in. Used seperately, the game, or the peripherals seem to be fine. The problem is, one of the main reasons I bought the Radio Shark was for use while playing!

EverQuest 2 is a fairly new game, and is a known RAM hog (that's why I upgraded to 2048). I'm not sure if this is relevant, but I wanted to give all the information I had.

Any further speculation would be appreciated!
