A couple questions

1. I used the cleaner in windows to clean my 120gb external and what it did was compress several 'old' files on the drive. These files now show up in blue. Anyways, can I return those files back to being uncompressed?

2. On that same drive I have about 800 folders in one directory. When I click on the folder name it takes forever to access the directories. I decided to make 8 folders and divide the 800 on the 8 but when I click on the folder to access them all it still takes forever. Can I sleed this up without moving the folders to different directories outside it's root folder?

1) Right click file, click properties, click advanced... uncheck compress file. Why would you want to do that, you will lose disk space. XP is capable of reading the file in compressed mode without any problems. The blue is just to tell you that the file is compressed. Harmless

2) if you have many files or folders within a directory it will take a few seconds to read that directory. You will need to lessen the amount of files and folders within that directory to make it read faster.
