I have been making an attempt to make a couple of ICONS using IRFANVIEW which is supposed to be a good file converter.

I will take my photo, then choose the option to SAVE and then I save it as a Windows ICON.

The problem is, if I take a photo of, let's say a person, the ICON won't come out looking like the original for some reason. It will often appear without the persons head or just not looking like the original. Any ideas as to why?

Also... during the saving process, you have the option to set the transparent color. Now... does this mean that if I have a photo of, let's say a penny with a black background, can I set black as the transparent color so the icon will appear as a perfectly round penny without the black appearing?

Any tips or help would be very much appreciated.

Thank you

DAVID

Get Photofiltre HERE then after you open a image, go to tools and export as ICO file...works like a charm :) plus the program is handy for other things to, like cloning, red eye reduction etc..be sure to grab the English edition...Freeware of course :)...Rhett
