Hello cheetore,
I had 8051 as a part of Micrsubject during my engineering studies.

Though it did not involve actual coding for 8051,the theory did cover 8051 in some detail.

The book which I found useful was 8051 Microcontroller by Robert Ayala. It was the only book available for me but it was worth the read.

Just a couple of sites that you may try

http://www.pjrc.com/tech/8051/

http://www.8052.com/tut8051.phtml

http://ee.cleversoul.com/8051.html

These sites look good with some source code that you may be interested in.

Hope this helps,

Cheers.
