Hi to all!

Is there a 5.1 speaker that can be directly connected to an iPod Nano (1st gen) and is also great for PC gaming (can support EAX)?

Merry Christmas!

Ahh... okay...

That's a great speaker set, however, I don't have enough money to buy it.
Is there a 5.1 speaker that's only less than $250 that can be connected directly to an MP3 player (particularly iPod) and also delivers great sound quality for PC gaming?

Merry Christmas! ;)

Technically you could connect any set of speakers to the iPod, you'd just need right cables to do so and it'd be a pain to switch cables.

Logitech has dedicated speakers for MP3 players and iPods: http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/productlist/US/EN,crid=2656
Of course they are 2 and 2.1 but thats all an iPod outputs anyway.

Here's the whole list of Logitech speakers: http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/productlist/US/EN,crid=2172
I have a set of Z-5300 and they are great - but no dedicated inputs for an iPod.

Also there's the Z-5450: http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/US/EN,CRID=2177,CONTENTID=10928

As an example, Logitech's suggested price is $499 U.S. but can be picked up for $269.99 Canadian @ Futureshop or $209 on Newegg.com. Not quite as much power but the rear speakers are wireless.

For that matter you can probably find the Z-5500's for around that price too if you search hard enough, DirectCanada has them for $319, $269 on Newegg.com
