Visited a web site without enough security and a trojan was lodged on my computer (it was a music lyrics site that came up first with google). Avast Virus software went bonkers and I chose delete the virus a couple of times. I deleted all of my temporary internet files and removed "Ad Destroyer" using the control panel add/remove programs option. Now AdAware finds stuff loaded all the time and it is able to remove them except for the dll file in the subject of this thread. There is also another dll file in the c:\windows\system32 directory called 3bvxVFWCodec.cpy.dll that I bet needs to be removed. AdAware says it will delete the dll in this thread's subject upon boot but does not do so. Spybot doesn't find it at all though it seems this hijacker is loading a bunch of other stuff all the time that both AdAware and Spybot find and remove. A full in depth virus scan does not find any thing.
Now besides the constant loading of spyware I also get ads popping up in new browser windows that the free utility Pop Up stopper can not prevent.
Any suggestions?
