So I have an emachine and the video card was failing. So I replaced it and since it was onboard. I needed to disable the old onboard. One thing led to another and I didn't get the bios and XP loaded. Now all I see is black....What can I do?

So is the black screen only when Windows loads or is that all you get now? Try unplugging the computer and then turning it back on, or use the Clear CMOS jumper to reset the BIOS to the defualts. There may also be a jumper on the motherboard to disable the onboard video.

Removing the CMOS battery and putting it back in is easier than using the jumpers
You'll eventually break the retention clips on the battery housing if you're not careful (maybe even if you are).

Use the jumper reset. A long, needle nose pliers works for me and my akward hands.
