I have 2 problems' which I think may have a quick solutions.

1) System32 will not show up in the WINDOWS folder, but when you type System32 in Run, it shows the folder! This also affects some other things, like when I type cmd in Run It' just shows up and disappears!
2) At boot it shows a message everytime: Invalid Boot.ini file, Boot from C:\Windows....


Are the two connected? Someone please help me out, I would appreciate it!

The contents of an unmodified BOOT.INI for XP-Pro would look like:

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect /NoExecute=OptIn

I have XP Home and yes I have it set to show hidden files and folders....and just now I seem to have ecountered a problem! I searched for the boot.ini file in search and couldn't find it and I remebered to include hidden files and folders!! Thank you for your help so far any more suggestions?
