I am not sure where to post this question.Anyway here it goes:

We have boxes of 1Mb floppies and I would like to know how to format them in 1 MB. Win 98 only allows 1.44mb and 720kb.

thanks!

I tried but a message pops up prompting me to check the disk or change the settings.

Also it is clearly marked on the boxes as 1mb per disk.

The "check the disk" prompt could mean the disk misloaded or has corrupted areas on the surface of the disk. Try loading the disk slow and easy more than once. If the disk has bad areas, it needs to be thrown away. Otherwise, it's not compatible with newer technology.

Hello Everyone!

I am able to format the 1mb disk in 720k and in fact have already used many of these disk. What I want to know from this site is how to utilize the extra 300kb left out when formatting to 720 kb.
In other words-format to 1mb like formatting a hard disk.
