There's been a persistent issue that prevents me from successfully launching the game "Men of War: Assault Squad 2." I've contacted the game support, and they very graciously gave me many instructions and recommendations for which course of action I should take in an effort to resolve the issue, but each was to no avail unfortunately. Additionally, I posted on the Steam forums and one person responded, but his suggestion didn't do anything for me either. After the employee for Customer Support from 1c expended the list of potential resolutions that they had given to me, the employee referred me to Microsoft, so that's why I'm posting on here. I would like to know if anyone is familiar with the 0xc00007b "the application was unable to start correctly" error, the causes of it, and/or any potential resolutions that could be applied. The issue is also consistent with "Empire: Total War" unfortunately.

What I've Attempted:
  • Reinstalling the newest version of C++
  • Reinstalling the newest version of DirectX
  • Restarting my computer and Steam
  • Reinstalling the game
  • Verifying the integrity of the game cache
  • Unsubscribing from all Workshop mods
  • Deleting all of the mods in the mod folder manually

If you don't have it installed already, you need to download and install Visual C++ Redistributable Package for Visual Studio 2013 (the vcredist_x86.exe version) from here. I believe this is required for the game.
you still need help?
Yes, as I reinstalled vcredist_x86.exe and the issue still persists.
Boot with the Windows DVD, choose Repair , Command prompt. Try going to C: , D: , E: , F: until you find the Window folder by typing DIR into the command prompt. Once you have located the correct drive, type in CHKDSK /B . This will take some time as it also checks all disk space for bad sectors.

I'll need to find where it is, but I appreciate the recommendation and I will resort to it if need be but, but I'm still wondering if there's a way by which I could resolve the issue without needing to find the DVD as I don't know where it is.

I notice that it's a 2014 game so have you tried the Windows compatibility mode?
you must have c++ 2015 as well 2017 is not necessary

I uninstalled the 2017 version. When I attempt to install the 2015 version, I install the 2013 version for some unknown cause even though I specifically searched for and accessed a page for the 2015 version.
Did it work though?
Did it work though?
No, it did not. Sorry for the late response. I've been experiencing many.. disturbances as of late.
