Hi, I'm trying to help my very frustrated teenage son with his PC that he's built himself. He's confident that he's bought components which should all be compatible but on running graphically demanding games (and "some" benchmark tests), the computer keeps freezing and requires a hard reset...
Not sure if this is the right forum, but two days ago, I was using my computer when it suddenly froze. Couldn't get it to unfreeze so I powered it off, and when I powered it on, the message "No boot disk has been detected or the disk has failed" appears.
How can I fix this?
Problem: brief flickering of white horizontal lines, always postioned close to the top of screen, various lengths.
Time of occurence / how often:
First happened around September 17th, after I installed "rainmeter" (I don't think this is the reason, and have since uninstalled).
I have a total of 8gb of RAM installed, however, despite recognizing all 8gb, only 4gb are usable.
The problem has persisted since I downgraded from win 10, and ever since that i've been receiving "Computer low on memory messages" while using heavy programs.
This screen is displayed and it does not go any further then this and when F1 is pressed is again restarts and I have tried taking the Ram out and placing it in but same issue.I will be very thank full...

I've tried to diagnose it myself and have failed. My PC doesn't boot up. When I click the power button, the lights are on except for the one that blinks (the hard drive usage ones I think?). The CPU and PSU fan seems to work and they start up but there is nothing being displayed on the screen...
